HP launches new notebooks

Hewlett-Packard has announced a new line of Compaq business notebooks. The nx9000 series machines are pitched at mobile professionals in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

At the top of the new range is the Compaq nx9010, a model which falls into the desktop replacement category. Users will have the option of an Intel Pentium 4 or Celeron processor. Other features include a 15-inch display and ATI Mobility Radeon graphics.

The Compaq nx9005 is the value side of the offering, featuring AMD's mobile Athlon XP-M processor.

The nx9000 (pictured) is the machine designed with mobility in mind, being the only model on offer to feature integrated 802.11b wireless networking. This model also features the latest Intel mobile processor, the Pentium 4-M. Weight starts at 2.95 Kg.

Common features crosses the range include a choice of DVD or DVD/CD-RW combo drives, up to 1GB of RAM and hard drive capacities of up to 40GB. The machines also feature FireWire and Ethernet ports along with an integrated 56K modem. According to HP, prices will range from €1,300 to €1,900.
