Will Fellows
William Fellows, principal analyst, The 451 Group, UK

William is co-founder of independent technology analyst company, The 451 Group, a thought leader on cloud computing and a regular speaker at industry conferences. The 451 Group is an independent technology-industry analyst company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation. William is VP research EMEA, and research director of the CloudScape service. He created and drives 451’s early adopter research program with end users and innovators across a range of vertical markets. He has identified and tracked early adopter markets, including grid and virtualisation among enterprise users from 2000 and since 2007 the program has been principally focused on cloud computing. As well as the end user constituency, William covers the suppliers - vendors, integrators and service providers – in the cloud market. He participates in numerous advisory boards and planning committees for UK and international industry bodies. His team also leads 451’s activities within the European Commission and numerous EC research projects. He is a member of the EC Cloud Expert Group, and co-author of The Future of Cloud Computing – Opportunities for European Cloud Computing Beyond 2010.

Davide Wilde
David Wilde, CIO, Essex County Council, UK

David is establishing a strategy for Essex County based on cloud adoption, shared services through collaboration and a move towards self-service provision through digital engagement, including take-up of social media. David was also CIO for Westminster City Council, CIO at the London Borough of Waltham Forest, head of e-Business and head of Internal and Electronic Communications for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. He also ran internet service development and delivery for the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency and worked on schools' capital policy in the Department for Education and Employment.

John Easton
John Easton, CTO, Systems and Technology Group, IBM, UK and Ireland

John is internationally known for his work helping commercial clients exploit large-scale distributed computational infrastructures, particularly those utilising new and emerging technologies. He is the UK technical leader for cloud computing, shaping IBM strategy in this key business area. Previous to his current role, John was chief infrastructure architect for a first-of-a-kind core banking infrastructure replacement programme. While at IBM, John has led initiatives around hybrid systems, computational acceleration technologies, grid computing and mission-critical systems. He is a member of the IBM Academy of Technology and a senior technologist in the IBM Innovation Network.

Seamus O'Reilly
Seamus Reilly, director, IT risk and assurance, Ernst & Young

Seamus is a director in Ernst & Young’s IT risk and assurance practice, specialising in information security. Seamus leads Ernst & Young’s information security practice, providing security consultancy and assurance in large security programmes. He also assists with privacy, business continuity, application and network security, threat and risk modelling for commercial and government clients globally. He joined Ernst & Young in 1997, having previously worked for British Telecom as a senior information security adviser and as a project manager.

Paul Rellis
Paul Rellis, managing director, Microsoft Ireland

Paul was appointed managing director of Microsoft Ireland in December 2007. As MD, he is responsible for Microsoft Corporation’s business in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland and represents Microsoft on strategic policy and communications issues in Ireland. Prior to being appointed MD, Paul was managing director for Microsoft’s European, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Operations Centre, and finance director for Microsoft Operations in EMEA and Asia-Pacific. He joined Microsoft in January 2000 from The Coca-Cola Company, where he held senior positions in finance, marketing and operations. Paul was president of the American Chamber of Commerce in 2008 and continues to be a board member of the organisation. He is also a member of the Governing Body of IBEC, a board member of the IMI and of the National Digital Research Centre.

Jason Ward
Jason Ward, country manager, EMC Ireland

Jason has more than 18 years of experience in the ICT sector. He began his career with Misys Financial Systems, where he grew its Irish base and developed its presence in the Northern Ireland broker market. He moved on to JD Edwards, where he managed the growth and expansion of its ERP customer base in Ireland. He then moved to Siebel Systems, working with the management team to establish the Siebel CRM business in Ireland. Prior to joining EMC, Ward spent eight years with Business Objects, where he managed the direct and indirect channels and also oversaw the integration with SAP following Business Objects' acquisition in 2006.

Anne Brady
Anne Brady, FCA, managing partner, Anne Brady McQuillans DFK

Anne is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland, the Irish Taxation Institute, the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Life Insurance Association. She worked and trained with KPMG and started her own practice in 1992. As a qualified financial adviser, Anne advises on wealth management. She also sits on the Information Technology Services Committee of Chartered Accountants Ireland and the EMEA Board of DFK International. She lectures for Chartered Accountants Ireland, Accounting Technicians Ireland and Certified Public Accountants, and regularly speaks at DFK international and national conferences.

David Cullen
David Cullen, partner, technology, IP and commercial, William Fry

David Cullen joined William Fry in 1999 and became a partner in 2001. He is a member of the Technology, Intellectual Property and the Biotechnology & Healthcare Groups. He qualified as a solicitor in Ireland in 1993. He is also qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and as a Community Trade Mark Attorney. Mr Cullen specialises in advising on the strategic protection and development of intellectual property portfolios, as well as technology issues.

Laurentiu Vasiliu
Laurentiu Vasiliu, founder and CEO, Peracton Ltd

Laurentiu is the owner and founder of Peracton Ltd. Ireland and inventor of MAARS and M2MN technologies. He was one of the founding members (2004) of the DERI Institute, becoming group leader with DERI and managing an R&D group responsible for research projects in semantic web, web services and software for finance. He has more than 25 scientific publications in IT within the areas of AI, semantic web, web services and applied research for industry. Laurentiu holds an engineering degree in industrial robotics (1997) and a PhD degree in IT/industrial engineering (2004) at National University of Ireland, Galway.

Lavinia Morris
Lavinia Morris, head of IT operations, Friends First Group

As head of IT operations, Lavinia is responsible for strategy development, infrastructure management and development, service delivery and information security. With a background in electronic engineering, Lavinia has worked in the ICT sector for more than 15 years, holding technical, architecture and managerial roles within Friends First and other institutions. She is chair of the Irish Internet Association's Working Group on Cloud Computing, a collaboration of expert practitioners and business leaders from various business sectors and organisations in Ireland. The group examines and debates the merits and challenges of cloud computing.

Mojtaba Akbari
Mojtaba Akbari, head of IT, The K Club

Mojtaba graduated with a BSc (Hons) in information technology from the Dublin Institute of Technology. He joined British Telecom Ireland as a network support consultant, and was involved in projects focusing mainly on broadband access and services. In 2007, Mojtaba joined The K Club as head of IT. He is also leading The K Club’s Green Team activities in implementing effective IT and security monitoring policies to achieve sustainable management systems. This will be achieved by investigating appropriate renewable energy sources, waste reduction and adoption of cloud computing technologies.

Paul Norton
Paul Norton, IT manager, Jones Engineering

Paul is group IT manager for Jones Engineering, a multi-disciplined engineering contracting company. He has has worked in IT for more than 20 years and has 14 years of experience managing IT within business. Paul has a MSc in IT from NUI Galway, and a BSc in computer science from Trinity College Dublin.

Tim Murphy
Tim Murphy, founder and CEO, Strencom

Tim Murphy founded Strencom in late 2000 after three years with Esat telecom (now BT Ireland) in a business development role in the internet division. Strencom is one of Ireland's leading and fastest-growing providers of data network and cloud computing services. Tim is a successful entrepreneur, with more than 18 years of experience in sales and marketing. He has been responsible for the growth of Strencom since 2000. The company’s managed Next Generation Data Network (NGN) offers cost savings, security and flexibility over comparable services. The company is ranked in the Deloitte Technology Fast Growth 50 for Ireland and the Deloitte Fast 500 for EMEA and is 100pc privately owned.

Kyle Johnston
Kyle Johnston, head of Technical Sales, Leaf Consulting

Based in Belfast, Leaf is a leading ICT company and a cloud computing champion. Kyle has been working in the IT industry for more than 14 years, 10 of which have been in a sales capacity. His role at Leaf is looking after the firm’s strong existing client base, while concentrating the rest of the time on a key business development role. He identifies the main area of growth which accounts for a lot of his time as cloud computing, what will become the No 1 method for delivery of IT services.

Simon Withers
Simon Withers, Strategy & Development, Cloud & Managed Services, SunGard

Simon has spent more than 20 years in IT, and spent the last 12 years with SunGard. He was one of the original members of the team that founded the Web Hosting Services division of the business, now known as Managed Services. Simon has provided both pre-sales, post-sales and solution architecture design for both production and web hosting, and is also credited with the launch and development of SunGard CWP (Continuous Web Presence), EAS (Email Availability Services), Managed Server Replication Services and more recently the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) that forms SunGard’s Enterprise Cloud Services. Simon is a social media representative for SunGard and writes his own SunGard blog, 100 Days in the Cloud.

Simon WithersJerry Sweeney, Managing Director, Cork Internet eXchange
Cork Internet eXchange is a hyper-energy-efficient data centre. Jerry has a background in both the IT and energy sectors. He is a co-founder of and has both strategic and day to day operational responsibility for Cork Internet eXchange, Cork's hyper efficient Data Centre. He is active in the OpenStack community. OpenStack is a global open source cloud computing initiative, a collaborative software project among several big players in the cloud computing space, designed to create freely available code, standards and common ground for the benefit of both cloud providers and cloud customers.
