Digital projects vie for start-up prize at NDRC

8 Dec 2010

Ten entrepreneurial projects from the NDRC LaunchPad programme will pitch to a high-profile panel tomorrow to claim a lucrative start-up support package.

The 10 competing projects will present to a panel comprising Shay Garvey from Delta Partners; Eamonn Fallon, CEO of Daft.ie; Nessa Butler, entrepreneur and ex managing director Ireland at Harvey Nash; and Ben Hurley CEO, NDRC.

The winning project will gain access to a significant investment and start-up supports package. The prize fund, in the order of €50k, has been sourced from private investors, plus a cash contribution from Bank of Ireland.

The winner will also receive legal services from Mason Hayes + Curran, accounting services from Grant Thornton and ongoing support from NDRC.

Projects taking part will include GradPool a one-stop online solution to match graduates with their ideal job; BragBet, which brings a social media twist to traditional online betting, allowing participants to banter, communicate and brag about their winning choices.  Another participant is geoDealio, a mobile phone-centered service that allows people to find location-based deals in real-time. The project came to people’s attention in May of this year when it was the winner of Dublin Startup Weekend.
