Google Ventures invests in musical iOS app maker

Internet giant Google has taken part in a US$600,000 investment in iPad and iPhone app maker Miso Media along with a group of accomplished angel investors.

Winner of the People’s Choice Award at TechCrunch Disrupt Miso Media are the creators of the award winning Miso Music iOS application.

Angel investors also investing alongside Google Ventures are Square chief operating officer Keith Rabois, film producer Laura Ziskin and other angel investors.

Miso Music for iOS is an innovative approach to learning guitar and ukulele. The patent-pending learning system uses cutting-edge note detection technology that listens for the correct note and delivers real time feedback.

The Miso Music app also comes equipped with a virtual guitar, ‘ukulele, bass, banjo, and mandolin.

The company plans to use the funding to expand and improve Miso Music.

“Expect a larger library of songs, a structured learning system, improved technology, and new software products for different platforms and instruments,” the company said.
