9 Jun 2011

Cloud-based start-up FeedHenry expects to create 15 jobs this year further to closing deals in Ireland, the UK and the US in excess of US$1m.

Founded in 2008, FeedHenry emerged from the Telecommunications Software & Systems Group (TSSG) in the Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) and has created 22 jobs over the past year.

It announced today it had received an investment of €500,000 as part of a larger syndicated round, which will facilitate further international expansion. Full details of the funding round, which involved a number of parties, have not been disclosed.

The company’s technology is based on pioneering research and development undertaken in WIT over the past five years. Its cloud platform enables the development of business-class mobile apps in a simple, secure and cost-effective manner and the subsequent deployment of these to multiple smartphone and tablet devices, including those of Apple, Android, Blackberry, Microsoft Phone 7 and Nokia.

Cathal McGloin, CEO of FeedHenry, said it already had more than 500 customers and partners using the FeedHenry platform.
