Free Tweetup for start-ups at the Digital Hub
#SMECommunity, the online support group for small businesses, is holding a free Tweetup event at the Digital Hub in Dublin City this coming Thursday.
The theme of the event will be how small businesses can expand their online experience offline.
Some of the topics up for discussion will be how SMEs can get their sales and marketing and brand awareness drives to work in both the online and offline mediums.
Speakers on the day will also be advising on how to go about starting a business in the current climate.
The line-up will include Lorna Maguire from the Digital Skills Academy; Joan Mulvihill from the Irish Internet Association; Eibhlin Curley from Dublin City Enterprise Board; Philippe Brodeur from Magnet Networks and Mary Boyle from Enterprise Ireland.
#SMEcommunity itself was spawned last summer after a tweet between two business owners quickly caught on with other SMEs on the social networking platform. Since then, the Twitter group has grown to have around 1,600 members from across the island of Ireland.
Members converse via Twitter, sharing tips and encouragement, and imparting advice. Once a month, #SMEcommunity then holds a free networking event for businesses.
People can register for Thursday's event at the Digital Hub on Thomas Street in Dublin. It will take place from 10am to 4pm.
