Tech giant Microsoft and the National Digital Research Centre (NDRC) are hosting an open mic night for company founders in Dublin next week.
Ahead of the Web Summit in Dublin, this event – set for Monday, 3 November, at Odessa Club – will highlight some of the companies to have emerged from the NDRC’s investment programmes.
The NDRC and Microsoft Ventures are working in partnership to help launch businesses in Ireland. The partnership, which was announced in June this year, is enabling new channels of support for NDRC-backed start-ups.
“In advance of the Web Summit, we wanted to work with NDRC to highlight some of the companies that are coming through their pipeline and benefiting from the Microsoft Ventures/NDRC partnership,” said Clare Dillon, developer lead at Microsoft Ireland.
Monday’s event will see 10 companies pitch to an audience of advisers, investors and companies from Dublin’s tech ecosystem. The format is a three-minute pitch, followed by two minutes of Q&A from the floor. Companies confirmed to pitch include Von Bismark, Bizimply, DropCar, Chasing Returns, Pewter Games, CDigifeye, TrialView, LearnUpon and ShotClip.
“Monday will be a great event and I’m looking forward to hearing from the 10 companies about the progress they’ve made,” said Dillon.
