Dublin and Galway-based Storm Technology is now one of the first partners of Microsoft worldwide and the first in Europe to be ‘services ready’ to deliver SharePoint 2010.

This means Storm is certified to deliver SharePoint 2010 offerings developed by Microsoft Consulting Services which enable customers to maximise business productivity through application of best practices in deployment, configuration and solution development in areas such as social computing, web content management, search, corporate portals and business intelligence.

“We are excited to be Ireland’s first services partner to invest in, and deploy Microsoft’s internal best practices for SharePoint 2010,” said Karl Flannery, managing director, Storm Technology.

“It builds on our existing deep SharePoint expertise and brings dividends to our clients as we are now best placed to help them maximise their return on investment from the platform, quickly and easily,” Flannery said.

Microsoft’s new SharePoint 2010 Service Line offerings lowers the risk and accelerates the deployment and implementation of SharePoint Server 2010 solutions which helps customers improve efficiency through use of the new social computing features of SharePoint 2010 for finding and connecting people, teams and expertise.

It also helps to improve organisational productivity, reduce costs and leverage investment through use of web content management, portals, forms, workflows, BI and connectivity/extensibility features.

The technology also promises to help firms see faster return on investment, increase in productivity, and lower costs by having the right SharePoint Search solution.

“This accreditation underlines Storm’s capability to rapidly deploy and get into productive use a range of value-added services that help Irish businesses become more competitive through meaningful automation and process management,” said Jack Cunnane, Microsoft Enterprise Services director.

“This is a very important milestone for us to increase our market reach through partners that can consistently and reliably deliver top-quality service, based on Microsoft’s intellectual property and best practices” added Cunnane.

The Services Ready program engages with a selected subset of the top tier of Microsoft Gold Certified Partners to help accelerate their services business by having a faster time to market, rapid deployment of high-value solutions, and a lower opportunity cost.

This investment in Microsoft Consulting Services IP represents a significant competitive advantage to participating Partners in enabling them to provide best-in-class service engagements to their customers.
