Broadway Gaming makes safe bet with online backup

Broadway Gaming, a recent arrival in Ireland’s growing online gaming sector, has awarded a contract for managed IT services and online backup to IT Force.

As part of the contract, IT Force has rolled out the KeepItSafe online backup for Broadway Gaming, which has offices in Malta and Dublin. The gaming company launched in July of last year and from the start, IT strategy was at the core of its business-development planning. Data backup was a key element in that plan, said managing director David M Butler.

“It was essential that we got our IT correct from the outset. With offices in two cities, online backup was a logical option for us. My aim is to capture new business and grow the company, not to worry about my IT, which is why at a very early stage I chose to outsource my IT requirements to IT Force,” Butler said.

IT Force was signed up to KeepItSafe’s partner programme, whereby customers using this service have their data backed up to multiple data centres. According to KeepItSafe co-founder Eoin Blacklock, the backup is fast and available for restore if required.

“On occasion, files accidentally get deleted. With KeepItSafe, you can have the file or email back on your desktop within minutes. The system works and works well,” Blacklock said.

In addition to the data backup service, Broadway Gaming also avails of IT Force’s ‘virtual IT department’, where its critical system and servers are remotely monitored and supported by a team of engineers located in Dublin. IT Force scoped and deployed the system that runs a critical reporting engine for the online business. This system is based on a Microsoft SQL server platform and Windows Server 2008.
