SQS to provide VITAR Software with cloud testing services

Provider of independent software testing and quality management services SQS Software Quality Systems has won a contract to provide cloud testing services to global provider of visitor management software solutions VITAR Software International Ltd.
VITAR Software has developed a SaaS-based version of its core product with a view to reducing installation and maintenance costs for its clients, and to enable it to market the offering globally.
SQS’s role is comprised of system testing, integration testing with the payment portal, security testing, cross-browser testing and performance testing.
“We engaged SQS to provide independence of testing and to mitigate risk through the use of their best practice PractiQ methodology as we couldn’t possibly risk having to fix defects in a cloud environment where there’s no place to hide," said Peter Plant, group CEO, VITAR Software.
SQS used its experience of testing in physical and virtual environments to identify the following phases of cloud testing and delivered a set of detailed documented test cases:
- System testing
- Core product functionality
- End-to-end user scenarios
- Integration testing between the VITAR site and the payment portal
- Security testing
- Inter-customer data separation
- User data separation within the same customer
- Cross-browser testing
- Performance testing
“Any defect in a cloud application will affect all users, potentially on a global level, so quality assurance is essential to avoid putting a company’s reputation at risk," said Derry O’Riordan, director, SQS Ireland.
