Sony Music Ireland is re-directing visitors to its website to its Facebook page instead, after it appears hackers posted three fake news stories on the website this morning.
The company, which is investigating the incident, said there is no substance to any of the stories that appeared on the site.
One story reported that two members of the band The Script had died, while another pertained to the marriage of teenage Friday singer Rebecca Black to singer R Kelly.
A statement by Sony also said all members of The Script are fine.
