Irish photo processor Spectra has announced that it’s embracing the digital age with the launch of a new website offering multiple services to customers using digital cameras.
With sales of digital cameras booming, the company has branched out into digital services from its base in traditional photographic processing. The new website has been developed over the last eight months by Ennis based Magico Software, allowing customers with digital photos to order photographic prints online.
Free web space is available to customers who place their images online allowing them to order photographic prints in a variety of sizes. The prints can then be delivered by post or sent for collection at selected Spectra photo stores.
“Many people purchasing digital cameras are unsure what to do once they take their photos. Our online option gives you the flexibility of digital with the quality and convenient print option of traditional photography, at good value,” said Evan McAuliffe, manager of Spectra Photo’s Digital Development.
The site is not limited to digital users. It also provides an option for those wishing to try digital without investing in the camera. Customers who avail of conventional photo processing can request their images on CD. These images can then be uploaded to the website where all of the online services can be availed of.
Spectra Photo is not the first Irish company to offer digital services. Galway outfit Fahyfoto has been offering online services for some time now and the new Spectra venture ought to have some competition from its more established rival in this area.
