Salesforce.com to add 20 jobs

15 Jan 2003

Salesforce.com, a provider of online customer relationship management (CRM) software, announced today that it is to hire immediately up to 20 technology consultants.

The positions are based out of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) headquarters in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.

“The fact that we are hiring when many in the industry are downsizing endorses our software as a service model of delivering low cost CRM over the internet,” commented Fergus Gloster, VP Marketing, Salesforce.com, EMEA.

He added: “Because of the need to boost and protect revenues in a difficult economic environment, it is more important than ever that companies are able to manage sales leads, prospects and customers. We are finding that many companies are looking for a CRM solution they can implement quickly with no heavy upfront investment or licensing costs. This is driving demand for our pay-as-you-go utility pricing model.”

Founded in San Francisco in 1999, the company launched in Europe in 2001. Salesforce.com has more than 5,400 customers for its online CRM solution. Salesforce.com delivers its CRM solution as an online information utility via a web services infrastructure. In the past year, the company claims to have added more CRM customers than Siebel, PeopleSoft, Oracle and SAP combined.
