New ISA and IMI programme for tech CEOs targeting funding

12 Oct 2015

The Irish Software Association (ISA) has worked on a new programme designed to help CEOs of scaling software and technology companies on their ‘funding journey’.

Developed alongside the Irish Management Institute (IMI), Zenith is a four-day programme for CEOs of companies seeking, and developed for, external investment.

Looking at things like preparation for funding, the course, running later this month, comes on the back of ISA research into a knowledge gap in Ireland.

“The roots of this programme lie in research from our own and ISA Software Skillnet members indicating a gap in the level of knowledge around funding options for companies ready to scale,” said Paul Sweetman, director of the ISA.

“We believe Zenith goes a long way towards closing that gap and will provide small software companies with the knowledge, contacts and experience they need to compete on the global stage.”

Funding this side of the Atlantic is an altogether different proposition in comparison to how US-based tech firms garner investment, something we touched on in detail a few weeks ago.

But that could soon be changing, with recent reports that, even in the US, garnering sufficient investment to make start-ups into unicorns may just be a thing of the past.
