With Niamh Townsend due to go on maternity leave, Aisling Keegan has been named as the new vice-president and general manager of Dell EMC Ireland.

Aisling Keegan has spent the last 17 years working with Dell EMC where she has held a number of leadership positions across the small, medium and large enterprise customer segments.

For the last five years, Aisling has served as executive director and general manager of commercial business for Dell UK.

During her tenure, Keegan oversaw unprecedented share gain whilst managing a number of go-to-market transitions and will now be responsible for driving the company’s commercial business on the island of Ireland.

As vice-president and general manager for Ireland, she will also become a member of the Ireland Leadership Forum, a group which provides strategic direction and governance to Dell EMC’s sites in Cork, Limerick and Dublin.

Keegan replaces Niamh Townsend in the role, who is on maternity leave from December. The latter is credited with helping the company achieve consistent year-on-year growth and getting the company to a market leadership position in client commercial and storage.

Keegan is well respected in the industry, and in 2014, the Women’s Executive Network named her as one of the top 25 most influential women in Ireland.

‘This is a time of enormous technological change’

“I am delighted to take up the role of vice-president and general manager for Ireland and look forward to working with our customers and partners to continue to meet their needs,” Keegan said on her appointment.

“This is a time of enormous technological change, and we believe we have a leadership role to play in working with Irish organisations in the public and private sector to help support their digital transformation agenda.”

As her predecessor, Townsend said: “I am delighted to be handing over this role to Aisling, who has an extremely strong track record at the company and who is well positioned to lead our commercial business in Ireland.

“I’m proud of the impact we’ve had in growing our commercial footprint here since I took up the position as general manager, and I look forward to returning to a leadership role at Dell EMC following my maternity leave.”
