Apple CEO Tim Cook drops in on Apple office in Cork

Apple CEO Tim Cook is in Ireland today, paying a visit to the consumer tech giant’s European base in Cork City and to meet with Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

Cook dropped into the Apple offices on Hollyhill, where he spoke to staff about the company’s future plans. At the same time, a live telelink connected him to staff in Apple’s other location in the city, on Half Moon Street, The Evening Echo reported.

Kenny will also drop in on the Hollyhill office later today, where he will meet with Cook.

Apple recently completed a new facility in Cork to support the company’s growing business across Europe.

Apple employs at least 4,000 people in Cork, where employees oversee the company’s supply chain throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Apple’s operations in Cork also involve the assembly of Mac Pro desktop computers.
