Following its US$3bn acquisition of music hardware and subscription company Beats, Apple is now looking to shed 200 of its 700 employees who are mostly in non-tech roles.

Bloomberg reported Apple is looking to streamline its workforce and release a significant portion of its staff in the areas of finance, human resources, and various smaller areas.

Apple would reportedly rather use its own staff to avoid overlap and has even set up a helpline for Beats employees that will direct them to Apple’s human resources department to see what the situation is with their employment.

It’s no secret that Apple bought Beats for its audio technology and is now beginning the process of implementing it within the hardware of its iPhones, as well as integrating it within the overall iTunes structure.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said earlier this year that Beats hardware employees would begin the transition of falling under the Apple umbrella in its offices in Cupertino, California.

Executives of Beats have already agreed to form a part of Apple’s boardroom, with both Jimmy Iovine and Dr Dre joining, while its creative director Trent Reznor, also lead singer of Nine Inch Nails, will also be incorporated into Apple.
