Henri Lamiraux, Apple’s iOS engineering vice-president, has retired from the consumer-tech giant following a 23-year career. He confirmed the move via his LinkedIn account, making iOS 7 his last innovation at Apple.
9to5mac.com reported it had learned from a source that Lamiraux had departed Apple more than a month ago. Apple has declined to comment on his departure.
For the past four years, Lamiraux had been vice-president of software engineering for iOS Apple and Frameworks.
Before that he had spent a year being director of software engineering for iOS Apps and Frameworks, and prior to that, he had been director of software engineering in that same iOS division.
Lamiraux joined Apple in 1990 as a software engineer, a role he nurtured more than10 years, while climbing the ranks at the company. Before that he was a software engineer at Version Soft, and prior to that he was a software engineer at AGF Informatique G.I.E. in Paris, France.
He graduated in 1981 as a chemical engineer in École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier in France.
