Chorus increases Cork
broadband blueprint

An additional 7,000 homes in Cork are now ready to receive broadband from UPC Broadband subsidiary Chorus.

The 7,000 homes that can now receive the Cablenet Broadband product from Chorus are located in the areas of Montenotte, Mayfield, Grange, Douglas, Frankfield, Donnybrook, Broadale, Rochestown and The Glen.

This latest announcement brings the total number of homes in Cork that are enabled for Chorus broadband to 35,000 to date.

Mark Coan, director of marketing and sales at Chorus and NTL Ireland, commented: “We have received an excellent response to our broadband service with a 240pc increase in customers since our official launch last September. We look forward to bringing our popular broadband service to more and more people as our network upgrade is completed.”

Chorus is due to complete the upgrading of its cable network at the end of this summer at which stage its broadband service will be available to a total of 60,000 homes in Cork.
