Storage and digital products distributor CMS Peripherals will distribute LeftHand Networks’ products to its reseller channels throughout Ireland and the UK following the signing of a partnership agreement.

CMS Peripherals, which has offices in Kiltimagh, Co Mayo, and London, will distribute LeftHand Networks’ SAN/iQ offerings and the recently released Virtual SAN Appliance for VMware ESX Server.

“We see more and more customers asking for solutions for which IP SANs are the natural choice,” said Michael Callaghan, managing director, CMS Peripherals Ireland. “We are delighted to be able to offer its solution and are immediately beginning a reseller partner recruitment programme and are already geared up to provide sales and technical training to interested resellers in Ireland and the UK.”

Doug Rich, vice-president, EMEA, LeftHand Networks, commented: “We selected CMS Peripherals because it has a 20-year pedigree of taking new technologies to these markets and we are confident that it will help to build the market for us in this territory.”

LeftHand Networks is a serious contender to dominate the iSCSI SAN space, according to Joe Fagan, group product marketing manager for CMS Peripherals. He credited its appeal to the fact that it delivers open iSCSI SANs on industry-standard hardware platforms.
