A €200-million office development in Cork to be marketed to multinational technology companies if approved may potentially create 1,500 new jobs.
Three separate blocks that will include a restaurant, showrooms, a leisure centre, a financial services unit and large office space will make up the development.
The City Council said it intends to grant permission for the project to the developer John Cleary.
However, because the proposed development contravenes the zonings in the City Development Plan, the planning application will have to go through the material contravention process and go before the City Council in early March to be voted on by councillors.
If approved, the new development would also build on the success of the nearby City Gate development where McAfee have recently located their Europe, Middle East & Asia headquarters.
