Datapac in managed services alliance with KeepItSafe
Online backup provider KeepItSafe has forged a managed services partnership with Irish IT services player Datapac.
The move is part of KeepItSafe’s strategy to create alliances that give managed services companies the ability to offer comprehensive cloud services encompassing online backup.
In Hand Guides secures $1.2m deal with Canadian company
Irish start-up In Hand Guides (IHG) has announced an alliance with North American AudioConexus, securing the Cork-based company with an estimated US$1.2m deal throughout 2011/2012.
IHG, which designs low-cost embedded audio players, will provide branded bespoke devices for the clients of AudioConexus across North America and in certain countries outside the US.
Toronto-based AudioConexus specialises in GPS solutions for mobile tourism, fixed venues and interpretive walking tours throughout numerous destinations and applications. These systems will enable automated (GPS-triggered) sightseeing experiences in multiple topics and languages. IHG audio players will open up major sales opportunities for AudioConexus.
Amazon invests in major ‘cloud’ data centre expansion in Dublin
E-commerce giant Amazon, which has also emerged as a key player in the fast-growing, on-demand cloud computing business, is investing in a major data centre expansion in Dublin. It has acquired a former Tesco storage facility in Dublin 24.
Amazon has bought a 22,539 sq-metre facility at Greenhills Industrial Estate in Dublin 24.
The company plans to convert the former warehouse into a cutting-edge cloud computing data centre.
