From Wrike to Slack and Trello to Google Docs, it’s an interesting time to be choosing collaboration tools for your team. But now it looks like Dropbox is entering the fray with the public beta release of Paper, its collaborative cloud-based documents editor.
Access to the public beta is on an invite-only basis and the app can only be accessed through your Dropbox account, although a mobile app will be available when Paper leaves beta.
The new app seems to be attacking both the entrenched players like Microsoft and Google with their respective Notes and Docs platforms and new to-do list players like Wrike, Slack and Trello.

We’ve argued for a long time that Dropbox could be the Office of the 21st century so it’s nice to see it finally get the finger out and start moving with compelling work tools at a time people are open to them.
With the new app, multiple people can edit documents at the same time.
However, it also includes to-do lists that will let managers delegate tasks and track them in a very uncluttered and easy-to-follow way.
Users can also create small photo galleries, comment anywhere in the document via text or custom stickers and each user is given a different coloured cursor with the user’s full name displayed in margins to credit their contribution to the file.
