Dublin mobile software firm opens Boston hosting centre

The Dublin-based provider of next-generation messaging, content management and delivery platforms Anam has opened a hosting centre for the North American market in Boston, which will serve wireless carriers across the US and Canada.

Anam will offer US carriers the ability to manage all or part of their wireless data services infrastructure, from content acquisition, enablement and management to content delivery using its flagship Eclipse product suite.

By launching services and solutions from a hosted environment, Anam customers benefit from rapid time to market for deploying new services, low financial and resource costs and no new infrastructure to be purchased or integrated, says chief technology officer Triona Mullane.

“Following success in Europe and other markets, North American wireless carriers are realising the value of delivering new and enhanced content services to subscribers and are looking for the most effective way to deliver them,” said Mullane.

“By launching this hosting center, Anam enables carriers to rapidly deploy new services easily and cost effectively, with a positive user experience guaranteed to its subscriber bases, in a secure and professionally managed facility,” continued Mullane. “As a center of technology and innovation, Boston is an ideal location for us to build out this facility, and equally satisfies carrier’s requirements to have a local hosting presence.”

Anam recently hit the headlines after it acquired Aliope a campus company spawned from Dublin College University’s Research Institute for Networks and Communications Engineering. The deal involved a small cash consideration and the owners of both Anam and Aliope are understood to have reinvested in the larger company.
