Dublin-based IT consultancy and services firm Version 1 has revealed plans to create 80 jobs on the back of a strong deals pipeline and the creation of two new consultancy divisions.

Version 1, which was set up in 1996, employs 170 people and over the years has developed a significant track record in the areas of financial services and public sector technology deals and counts over 110 existing clients.

The company says it plans to increase turnover by 50pc to €15m at the end of this year.

Version 1 focuses on database and application development work and its specialties include Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PHP, Java and .Net.

Version 1 managing director Justin Keatinge said that the company had a turnover of €3.5m in the first three months of this year.

“Historically we have always had a very strong public sector base,” he said.

“Over the past 12 months we have concentrated a lot on Financial Services where we have replicated our success in the public sector and have now established ourselves as a significant player in this area,” Keatinge added.
