Financials IT refresh for Premium Distribution

12 Nov 2003

Premium Distribution, a Bray-based supplier of cosmetics to pharmacies and department stores, has taken delivery of a new management and financial software package to handle its growing back-office requirements and management information reporting needs.

The system was supplied by IBM and its business partner Bluetech as part of a five-figure contract. The solution is based on an IBM iSeries Server running Chorus, a scalable management and financial software package, that will allow Premium Distribution to grow the number of people using its system and link users in remote offices by a secure virtual private network (VPN) connection.

“The need for better quality management information was a very important part of the solution and Chorus delivers that,” said Garry Clarke, a director with Bluetech.

The changeover from the existing Windows NT server running Sage software will take two weeks to migrate all the data and install the IBM iSeries Server with Chorus ready to go. Bluetech is an Irish agent for Chorus software and under the terms of the deal it will also provide support and education services for the duration of the project.
