Google Ireland has appointed Cera Ward country manager for large customer sales. The Marketing Institute of Ireland graduate is succeeding Shane Nolan in the role, and will head up an Irish sales team that will be on a mission to help large Irish businesses “maximise” the use of Google advertising platforms, the search giant said.

Ward previously worked as Google’s head of sales for Ireland.

Nolan will be transiting to the role of head of small and medium-sized business, Ireland and UK, at Google.

According to Google, the European digital economy is growing at a pace that is seven times faster than the traditional economy.

In her new role, Ward will head up a sales team at Google Ireland that aims to help large Irish businesses ramp up their use of Google advertising platforms to “drive business growth in the digital economy”, the company said.

Ward is also the chairperson of the IAB Search Council, which strives to inspire and educate marketers in search marketing.

Other members of the group include Maeve O’Meara from IAB Ireland; David Mulligan from Radical; Ken Wilson from ADTECH; and Elsa Stewart from Yahoo!
