The new HMV store on Grafton Street in Dublin city centre will open its doors at 8am on Saturday, 19 April, HMV and Xtra-vision owner Hilco Capital has revealed.

The new store will not be located at its former premises on the pedestrian shopping area, but has set up shop at the location formerly occupied by A-Wear, next to BT2 and adjacent to Bewley’s Café.

HMV will mark the opening of the new store with a massive ‘Record Store Celebration’, featuring exclusive offers throughout the day, including 40pc off all vinyl; and one-day only deals across movie, music, games and tech, including Blu-ray players for €9.99 and €100 off Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles. Shoppers please note that stock is limited.

The store will also be giving away HMV goodies throughout the day.

Live performances by Irish acts, as well as live sets by Ministry of Sound DJs, will take part in the grand opening, too, but HMV Ireland won’t reveal the lineup until early next week on its Facebook and Twitter pages.

All HMV stores in Ireland, with the exception of Newry, will also mark ‘Record Store Celebration’ with 40pc off all vinyl.
