Dublin-based web-hosting player Host Ireland says it is planning to exploit growth opportunities in the Irish IT marketplace following a recent €500k investment in a new 24-hour support centre and additional infrastructure.
The deployments include a €500k investment in automation, an operational 24-hour support centre and a partnership with international managed service player Rackspace Managed Hosting.
Richard Tarr, general manager in charge of sales and marketing at Host Ireland, said the company has entered the first phase an aggressive customer acquisition strategy.
“The systems automation in particular has had a dramatic effect on internal efficiencies — allowing us to cut prices by an average of 40pc while simultaneously creating an error-free environment for our customers,” explained Tarr.
He continued: “Holding the exclusive Irish partnership with the world’s largest and most respected managed service provider gives us the underlying infrastructure to achieve our target market share of 30pc within three years. As part of the deal, Rackspace will provide Dell 2850 Servers and a team of enterprise-level technicians.”
The company said it will run a range of offers to attract SME and corporate customers to its hosting service. The first offer will include a free domain name, two month’s free hosting and free set-up on all packages. Prices will start at €95 a year for a fully specified 500MB hosting account.
Rackspace managing director, Dominic Monkhouse, commented: “We have made significant provisions to facilitate Host Ireland’s growth strategy. The underlying resources are now in place and having Host Ireland as a proven partner gives us a new opening into the Irish market.”
