MarketBoomer, an Australian e-procurement service provider, has announced that it is to establish the corporate headquarters for its global operations in Dublin, creating 35 jobs.

The company, which provides an electronic marketplace service to the hospitality, catering and accommodation sectors, will locate its headquarters in the Digital Hub facility in the Liberties area of Dublin City.

A staff of 35 people will be recruited over a three-year time frame and the activities in MarketBoomer’s Irish operation will include sales, marketing, account management, technical support and back-office processing functions. The decision to set up in Ireland follows a visit by the company, co-ordinated by IDA Ireland, and discussions with IDA on the most suitable location.

MarketBoomer was established in Sydney, Australia, with the aim of using the internet to improve the way businesses handled the procurement process and to provide easy access between purchasers and suppliers from a technology, service and cost perspective. It claimed that its transaction volume, a key measurement metric in any electronic marketplace, has grown at an average rate of 12pc month on month for the past two years. It numbers several blue-chip hotel groups among its customers, including Hyatt, Intercontinental and Starwood. It also has clients in the local government, education, health and construction sectors.

Marketboomer CEO David Mayman, who has relocated from Australia to Ireland, commented: “Ireland provides a perfect base for our European expansion due to the availability of qualified staff and access to a first-class technology infrastructure.”
