IBM has scored a deal with the world’s largest car rental firm Hertz to be its preferred supplier for a new document management system at Hertz’s European Services Centre in Dublin.
As part of the deal, IBM will provide hardware, software, services and project management to e-enable Hertz’s process for retrieving rental agreements. This will result in instant online access for Hertz staff, which IBM says will result in faster response to customer queries.
The system will run on IBM’s iSeries eServer, manufactured locally at IBM’s technology campus in Dublin, which will be used to scan all rental-associated documents from Hertz customers throughout Europe.
