IDA Ireland puts out tender for 28 iPad 2 tablets

IDA Ireland, the agency tasked with securing inward investment, is hoping to equip senior executives with the latest iPad 2 tablet computers to enable them to access key strategic documents from anywhere in the world.

The State agency is planning to buy 28 iPad 2 devices, including two for initial testing purposes.

The devices must be the 64GB versions capable of Wi-Fi and 3G.

According to a notice on the eTenders website: “IDA Ireland is seeking tenders from IT Providers for an initial purchase of 2 Apple iPad2 with an option to purchase a further 26 Apple iPads for use by IDA Ireland Board Members and other Committee Members to access and read Board and Committee documentation.”

Apple currently chargest €799 inc VAT (€660.33 ex VAT) for the 64GB model with 3G and Wi-Fi.
