Ireland’s most unique sci-tech conference will be back with a bang in June 2018, and now you can be one of the first to book your place there.

After the success that was Inspirefest 2017, preparation for next year’s extravaganza is already underway with its organisers revealing that Inspirefest 2018 will take place on 21 and 22 June.

Once again returning to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin’s Silicon Docks, the event is set to expand upon the winning formula it found in 2017, with a whole new range of speakers and events as well as the return of some familiar faces.

To mark the announcement, Inspirefest has begun selling a limited number of Ultra Early Bird tickets for €175, which will entitle people to full access to the events spanning two days and all the snack perks that come with it.

Based on last year’s figures, 3,000 visitors are expected to attend the main conference and fringe events, which will include fantastic theatre, music and screenings.

A global event

With attendees travelling from 38 countries in 2017, the organisers were keen to get cut-price tickets out early to allow loyal visitors time to plan ahead, according to the event’s founder, Ann O’Dea.

“We have received so much interest from groups planning to travel to Dublin that we wanted to confirm our 2018 dates as quickly as possible,” she said.

“For those who feel Inspirefest is a must-attend, we like to offer them the opportunity to get in early and nab our Ultra Early Bird tickets in advance.”

Giving an insight into what attendees are to expect next year, O’Dea said: “We are in talks with some really incredible speakers from all over the world, so we have a real treat in store for 2018 attendees.”

Highlights from 2017

One of the many highlights of Inspirefest 2017 was a talk from composer and conductor Eimear Noone who, through sheer will and determination, showed her naysayers where to go, becoming a pioneering figure in the world of video game music.

We were also joined by Other Voices’ Phillip King who, along with Domhnaill Hernon of Nokia Bell Labs, put on a performance that transcended art and technology.

Those interested in special ticket offers, competitions and speaker announcements can follow the action by signing up to the Inspirefest newsletter.
