Attendees at Inspirefest’s first ever Asian Salon will enjoy a sneak preview of next June’s event.

Following several successful Salon events in New York, Munich, Paris and London, Inspirefest will arrive for its Hong Kong Salon on Wednesday 1 November.

Founder of Europe’s leading sci-tech event and CEO and co-founder of Silicon Republic, Ann O’Dea, will give attendees an exclusive look ahead at next year’s programme.

Inspirefest 2018 will take place from 21 to 22 June, coinciding with the new Cathay Pacific direct flights from Hong Kong to Dublin, which are due to begin on 3 June 2018. Due to popular demand, the Hong Kong Salon is now fully booked, but there are more events in the works for those who want to take part.

In January, Salons will be held in New York and San Francisco, and will then move to the heart of the European start-up hub, Berlin, in February. In March, the team will host Salons in Paris and London.

O’Dea voiced her excitement at the continued success of the international Salons, describing the endeavour as “so much more than one event in Dublin. It is an international sci-tech community that likes to build networks, make connections and share knowledge.

“Our international Salons allow us to meet our community throughout the world and introduce them to some of our speakers, past and future, while learning and having fun along the way. We’re delighted to add Asia to our road trip this year.”

Elena Rossini, filmmaker and previous conference speaker, was enthusiastic about the new developments, describing the main Dublin event as her “favourite event of the year, as it brings together inspiring agents of change who share their powerful stories”.

She added: “Strong relationships are forged over the course of the conference, often resulting in amazing collaborations.

“The international Salons extend the wonderful nature of Inspirefest. They give attendees a glimpse of what Inspirefest is all about, yet they’re more intimate, thus allowing participants to get to know members of the community. I wish I could attend them all!”
