Advertising through social media is increasingly important for businesses.

As people now engage less with print media like newspapers and magazines and as recordable TV means that people are fast-forwarding through TV ads, social media like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram is one of the scarce places where advertisers can now engage with potential customers.

The below infographic from Salesforce focuses specifically on Instagram.

The photo-sharing social network was acquired by Facebook in 2012 and since then focus on revenue generation has been key for the website.

The social network, which has more than 400m users, is particularly important for advertisers due to its popularity among disposable-income rich millennials (18-to-29-year-olds).

Check out Salesforce’s infographic for key points you need to know to maximise the effectiveness of Instagram advertising.
