Irish firm Pixcelldata agree deal to launch software in south-east US

6 May 2014

Pixcelldata, an Irish developer of digital pathology management and collaboration software, has established a partnership with Atlanta-based Edge Solutions to market its Collibio software product across the south-eastern region of the US.

The software has been developed as an advanced web application for managing, storing and sharing digital pathology images and associated case data. It has already been adopted by hospital pathology departments, medical research and teaching institutions in numerous locations across the globe.

Digital pathology is a dynamic, image-based environment that enables the acquisition, management and interpretation of pathology information generated from a digitised glass slide.

A digitised slide can be viewed using a web browser as an alternative to using a microscope for clinical, research, and educational slide review.

Speaking about the signed deal, Pixcelldata’s CEO Alan Hanley said, “Pixcelldata sees that Edge Solutions has the right mix of end-user and underlying infrastructure skills that will allow Collibio to be deployed into a wide range of institutions in the south-eastern United States. Our product is successfully being used around the globe, and we value partners like Edge Solutions who can help us to ensure our mutual clients gain the vast improvements available through modern digital imaging solutions.”
