Irish firms on a trade mission to the Gulf region have secured €25m worth of contracts in areas ranging from ICT to energy, construction and education in the first three days of a five-day schedule.

The Enterprise Ireland-led mission was attended by Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD and the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton.

The contracts were secured on the Saudi Arabian and Qatar legs of the five-day mission, which now moves on to the United Arab Emirates for the final two days.

“The activity and success across a wide range of sectors demonstrates the opportunities that exist in the Gulf for Irish companies with high quality and innovative solutions,” Enterprise Ireland CEO Julie Sinnamon explained.

“Enterprise-Ireland will continue to work with our companies to ensure they have all the supports they need to compete and win in these important markets,” Sinnamon said.
