Jobs boost for Tuam

Connaught Electronics Ltd, a company specialsing in the design and manufacture of automotive electronics, plans to create 40 jobs in its Tuam operation over the next 12 months.

The company is currently advertising 16 job roles, some of which comprise multiple positions, and the company hopes to have employed at least 40 people by the end of the year, the company’s human resources officer Finola Burke told siliconrepublic.com.

The jobs are predominantly in skilled engineering positions, with the company looking for candidates with one to two years-plus experience, rising to five years-plus for senior roles.

“The three main areas we’re recruiting in are electronics hardware design, embedded software and mechanical,” said Burke.

“We are looking for several people within elecronic design, mechanical and R&D engineering, embedded software and senior embedded software. There would be a number of roles open in each of them job titles.

“We are also be looking for a number of manufacturing engineers.

“It’s also possible that within the quality side there would be one to two more vacancies,” she added.

More positions will be advertised in Q2 and Q3.

The company designs, develops and manufactures technologically advanced products for automotive manufacturers and their suppliers.
