Microsoft and Oracle to promote Irish software firms in US

11 Jul 2011

Solutions from Irish software companies are to be actively promoted through the channel partners of Microsoft and Oracle, it has emerged. Thirteen companies will participate at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference, which kicks off in LA today.

The 13 Irish software companies will participate in an Ireland@Microsoft stand at the Microsoft World Partner Conference most of this week.

In September, Enterprise Ireland will participate in a similar way, with eight to 10 Irish companies at the Oracle Openworld event.

“It’s part of an ongoing 2011 initiative to promote solutions from Irish software vendors through the partner channels of Microsoft and Oracle,” explained Ciara O’Mahony from Enterprise Ireland.

“There are ongoing relationships for Enterprise Ireland with Microsoft and Oracle in Ireland, and these relationships are being leveraged to promote independent software vendors (ISVs) in the US market through the platform partner channels, as it is in Microsoft and Oracle’s interest to globally promote interesting vendor solutions ( Bizspark, etc) to their channel partner networks.

“Obviously, the US is a significant opportunity for Irish companies and channel partners give them the broadest 50-state reach.

The participation of Enterprise Ireland clients at the upcoming events has helped raise the Irish software vendors’ profiles with UK and European channel partners,” O’Mahony added.
