Munster IT firm shines in business awards

Showing that growth is possible against the odds, Cork-based Exigent Networks is the provincial winner of the Ulster Bank Business Achievers Award, excelling in the ‘Best Business Start Up’ category.

The two-year old company provides design and maintenance services for Wireless, LAN, WAN and IP Telephony solutions.

The award coincides with Exigent Networks’ relocation to East Gate Business Park, Little Island. The new offices will facilitate further expansion in Ireland and into the UK, while becoming the hub for its Network Operation Centre, where it will proactively monitor customers’ networks.

Paul Casey, director, Exigent Networks, commented that the award was a welcome recognition of its success “in what is becoming an increasingly competitive field in the IT industry”.

He added: “Exigent is an indigenous, Irish company and we would hope, given the current economic climate, to be an inspiration to fledgling Irish companies and give them encouragement to take a chance and prosper.”

Exigent Networks was formed when three colleagues saw a requirement in the network integration space for high quality design and maintenance services.

The company provides the architecture, deployment, integration and management of networks and systems to deliver leading-edge solutions.
