New monthly meet-ups aim to help Ireland’s e-commerce sector sell better

2 Nov 2012

Next Monday will see the launch of E-Commerce Ireland, a free monthly gathering for those that sell products and services online. The new group has been set up by Colm Griffin, who runs the e-commerce website for eco products, Purchase.ie.

He said the meetings for those operating in the e-commerce space will be held on the first Monday of every month.

The first meet-up will take place from 6pm on 5 November in Mac Turcaills pub on Townsend Street, Dublin 2.

“It’s all about coming along and sharing your insights on what is and isn’t working for you and finding ways to sell more effectively online,” said Griffin.

As well as businesses, he said the events will be open to those who provide specialist services in the e-commerce area, as well as web-design specialists, SEO consultants and cost-per-click advertising experts.

At each meet-up a speaker will share his or her insights on online selling, followed by an opportunity for people to network.

Next Monday’s guest speaker will be Graham Merriman of Carrickcane Consulting. He worked as global director of online sales for Philips in the Netherlands until June of this year.

Anyone interested in attending the free meet-up next Monday can register in advance online, said Griffin.
