Irish company Oneview Healthcare is opening up a US HQ on the back of several deals made by the company in the region last week.
Last Monday, Oneview Healthcare was awarded a seven-year contract with the NYU Langone Medical Center. It means 2,000 devices, or ‘end points’ will be installed by the company over the lifetime of the deal, supplying NYU’s five medical centres.
This was a major contract for the company, so by the end of the week, when three more deals were signed in the mid-west of the US – adding to three on the west coast – a headquarters in the country to add to its presence there was becoming badly needed.
With that, Chicago has been chosen as the base for Oneview’s first-ever US office, largely as three of its new contracts were for proof of concept projects in the area.
Cracking the US
The contracts, which typically run for 90 days, include the deployment and integration of Oneview’s ‘patient experience’ platform in specific wards of three different hospitals (typically across 25-40 beds) and integration with each hospital’s existing IT infrastructure.
With its headquarters in Blackrock in Dublin, Oneview has additional offices across the US, United Arab Emirates and Australia, where it develops a platform for the integration of hospital IT systems, particularly with regard to patient care and their experience in the hospital.
Founder and president of the company, Mark McCloskey calls it an “extremely exciting” time for the company, with the US office a “commitment” from his company to its growing customer base there.
In January, a €12m investment made by the company in Dublin saw the creation of 15 jobs, showing 2016 as a booming time for a side to medtech often overlooked, how staff handle patient information.
