Online travel giant cuts deal with Ennis firm

Ennis Information Age Services (EIAS) has been awarded a contract by global travel website ebookers to help it boost traffic across its European family of websites.

EIAS evolved from the Eircom-backed Ennis Information Age Town project and specialises in website usability and web marketing issues. The company provides turnkey services to Irish and international companies that want their websites to be user-friendly and profitable.

The company will provide ebookers’ web team with training to identify the capability of websites to be understood, learned, used and liked by the user. The web marketing training will include search engine optimisation and online advertising.

As the contract went into full swing, web developers based in Ireland as well as developers from India, Holland and Spain travelled to EIAS’s training lab in Ennis to take part in training sessions that focused on usability and web marketing.

Ebookers’ e-commerce marketing manager Paula Thomas said: “Our aim is to be Europe’s best travel portal and preferred travel retailer on the web. To achieve this we need to ensure that our websites are consumer-focused and uncomplicated.”

Thomas concluded that ebookers had selected EIAS on the basis of its international reputation for making technology more accessible to consumers.
