PC World unveils online strategy to target Irish SMEs

Computer retail giant PC World has gone live with a dedicated website which it says will radically alter the way technology products are sold to small and medium Irish companies.

The new site, www.pcwb.ie, will offer more than 50,000 products with a promise of a 48-hour delivery time.

PC World’s parent company DSGi, which also runs the Currys and Dixons chains in Ireland, says that this is the first dedicated business IT website of this size in Ireland.

DSGi general manager Declan Ronayne said that the company will leverage PC World’s buying scale as a major European retailer to deliver competitive prices.

The range of products offered on the site include computers and laptops, networking hardware, servers, audio visual equipment, office supplies, furniture, printers and office equipment, software, security hardware and software as well as training.

The website will be supported over the phone by a team of PC World business experts who will provide a consultancy service to businesses in terms of building, managing and developing their IT infrastructure.

“Pcwb.ie opens up the market in Ireland for online technology purchasing and support,” said Ronayne. “Until now, the choice for business customers has been very limited. That era is over and we’re now looking forward to working with business customers to become their one stop shop for all their technology needs.”
