Blogging is no longer the sole domain of wannabe journalists, fashionable folk and chronic oversharers, most businesses with an online presence now require content creators to populate their sites – often with blogs.

So, with this in mind, the question of how to write the perfect blog post – and, hence, attract people to your website – is something a wide range of businesses now needs to ponder.

Unsurprisingly, your headline is key, because 80pc of those lazy, lazy readers never, in fact, read beyond the headline. Numbers are also attractive to people – which may explain why most news stories now are turned into Buzzfeed-type listicles in some way.

Visuals are key, as are subheads, and you should include share butons if you want to make your (hopefully) perfect blog post as shareable as possible.
