RadiumOne fires CEO over felony and battery charges

The CEO and chairman of Silicon Valley ad tech player RadiumOne Gurbaksh Chahal has been fired after he became embroiled in a court battle over alleged battery and domestic violence.

RadiumOne came under intense criticism and calls for Chahal’s dismissal after he pleaded guilty the charges and was sentenced last week.

Chahal last week walked free from more than 40 felony charges arising from the alleged beating of his girlfriend during a 30-minute attack in a San Francisco, California, apartment despite pleading guilty.

Chahal is alleged to have been seen in security footage hitting and kicking Juliet Kakish 117 times in half an hour.

Instead of going to jail Chahal was given three years of probation and 25 hours of community service.

Despite being dismissed by RadiumOne’s board, there are indications that Chahal who is also a shareholder in the company may challenge the dismissal.

In a blog post at the weekend vehemently defending his actions Chahal still referred to himself as CEO of the company after RadiumOne announced his dismissal.

RadiumOne is Chahal’s third ad-tech venture. He sold two previous advertising companies for a total of US$340m by the age of 25.
