The Revenue Commissioners have granted the EMEA headquarters of US semiconductor player Xilinx the designation of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), one of the first of such companies to be given the status.
The AEO certification programme forms part of European Commission regulations designed to enhance global customs security and promote free trade. It also ties in closely with global anti-terrorism measures.
The programme encourages best practice at all levels in the international supply chain where AEOs are recognised worldwide as safe, secure and compliant business partners in international trade.
In addition to its European headquarters, Xilinx operates a research, development, engineering and IT centre in Dublin.
