CRM vendor

2 Aug 2005

Business management software player Sage has acquired Irish customer relationship management (CRM) vendor Delta Systems for an undisclosed sum in a move designed to strengthen Sage’s position in the fast-growing CRM market segment.

It is understood the move follows months of technology, product and business collaboration between the two companies.

Liam Mullaney, managing director of Sage Ireland, describes the deal as strategic and says it complements Sage’s existing CRM solutions to cover businesses of all sizes and adds to its skills, capability and domain-knowledge base. The move also marks the continuation of a rapid acquisition strategy executed by Sage in the Irish market since 2001.

“The acquisition of Delta Systems provides an exciting opportunity for Sage Ireland. With a combination of the domain knowledge, enhanced product offerings and clients of Delta Systems and Sage’s product portfolio, customer base and nationwide business partner network, we are expertly poised to develop this market,” explains Mullaney,

“By providing the customer relationship capabilities of our ACT, SalesLogix and ACCPAC CRM products as well as the ongoing commitment to Goldmine and Heat products, we can deliver the types of CRM solutions that organisations of any size need to drive revenues, enhance client service and differentiate themselves from the competition.”

Delta Systems was established in 1992 by David Larkin. The company has more than 11 years’ experience providing CRM solutions and consultancy based around its FrontRange portfolio, which includes GoldMine, Heat and GoldMine BCM Corporate Edition as well as Sage’s ACT and ACCPAC CRM products. The company has a wide variety of customers in a number of sectors including Canon, KPMG, VHI, Bupa, Anglo Irish Bank, Enterprise Ireland and BMW.

Larkin will take up the position of general manager at CRM Solutions, an operating division of Sage Ireland and his team will be located at Sage in Citywest Business Campus, Co Dublin.

“We are looking forward to combining resources with such strong product, service and financial partners as Sage,” says David Larkin, managing director of Delta Systems. “The combination of our expertise, track record and range of products ensures an evolution path for Sage that will continue to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.”

“We view this deal as strategic,” Mullaney said. “CRM Solutions, an operating division of Sage Ireland will expand its market presence to become the leading CRM solution provider for both enterprise and SME markets. It is our vision that CRM Solutions will be the first choice provider for any business or organisation seeking to implement a CRM system.”
