Samsung has countered Apple’s lawsuit against it over smartphones patents, filing its own patent lawsuits against the consumer tech giant.
According to Reuters, Samsung said Apple infringed on 10 of its mobile patents, in suits filed in Japan, Germany and South Korea.
These patents include power reduction during data transmission, 3G technology for reducing errors while transmitting data and wireless data technology.
This lawsuit comes a few days after Apple sued Samsung, alleging that its Galaxy line of tablets and smartphones borrowed heavily from the iPhone and iPad, in areas such as hardware, UI and packaging.
Apple filed the lawsuit in spite of the fact it is one of Samsung’s top semiconductor customers.
The case comes just ahead of the launches of the Samsung Galaxy S II and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet.
It is the latest in a huge array of legal battles, including Nokia suing Apple and vice versa, Apple suing HTC, Microsoft suing Motorola and Oracle suing Google.
