Twitter to hit nearly US$1bn in ad revenues in 2014 – report

27 Mar 2013

Microblogging site Twitter’s advertising revenues will more than double this year to nearly US$583m and next year they’ll hit almost US$1bn, eMarketer predicts in a new report.

This growth can be attributed to mobile ad revenues. About 53pc of Twitter’s ad revenue will come from mobile advertising this year. By 2015, more than 60pc of Twitter’s expected US$1.33bn in worldwide ad revenue will come from mobile advertising, eMarketer reported.

Some 83pc of Twitter’s ad revenues for 2013 are expected to come from US advertisers. In two years, however, non-US revenues will hit US$319m, an increase from US$100m this year.
